Oh, there’s lots of words I could use to describe my photography style… like photojournalistic, romantic, modern, carefree, quirky and candid. Well, and happy. I think wedding photos, especially, should look like you are enjoying yourself and you’re happy to be there! It doesn’t need to look super serious! Happy always wins for me.
To best describe my style, well, look at my favourite images and you will see a mix of styles, locations and subjects. I absolutely adore detail shots (rings, decor) where I have absolute control. I love the ceremony and reception action where I can focus on what is going on, entirely out of my control, and look to capture real moments and real emotions. I love portraits where people are smiling and laughing and you know that they are genuinely happy. I also love romantic portraits where you are snuggled close together, enjoying each other’s company. I also love a great environment shot to showcase the scenery around you!
Whether it’s an engagement photography session or on your wedding day, our time working together will be spent laughing… either with me or at me, whatever it takes to make great images! I want to give you images that you will look back at in 20 years and still remember what a good time you had at that time in your lives.
My editing style is pretty straightforward… clean and crisp. Sharp & in-focus photos are a must! Not a lot of funky colouring, weird actions or processing gimmicks. I’m not a Photoshop artist, I’m a photographer first and foremost, so I try to make it look how I want in camera with minimal post-processing. I love pure colours and true black and whites and I hope you do too.
I am a city girl that loves photographing people in nature and I love the diverse landscape of the Prairies from the fields to parks to the mountains. While I enjoy shooting all around Edmonton, I also enjoy photographing in Banff, Canmore, Kananaskis, Calgary, Cochrane, Red Deer, Jasper and I look forward to travelling more for throughout Canada and the rest of the world for weddings!
