Banff Proposal Photography | Winter Proposals
There is some crazy statistic that says 1 in 3 proposals happens between the months of December & February (at least, according to Wedding Bells), so if you are thinking of popping the question, a winter proposal is the perfect way to do it! Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise… all beautiful places that make for a breathtaking backdrop that are super romantic for your proposal. If you are planning to propose, secretly photographing your proposal will give you photos to relive that the excitement for the rest of your lives. There’s a few ways you can have the proposal photographed. You can go the way of super secret with your photographer hiding nearby so your soon-to-be-fiance/ee has no idea that it’s happening (and then follow up with some couples photos after you hear yes!) or you can also book a couples session so that they know you are being photographed together and then pop the question in the middle of your session. Both ways work great! With daytime proposals, you have your pick of locations since there is usually great light. Night time proposals are lot trickier to do secretly as they really are dependant on having great lighting. I’d forgo the evening secret proposal and go for daytime when you are in the mountains to capture the breathtaking views. You could do a night portrait session and throw the surprise in the middle though since you’d both being expecting to see lights and flashes then and it wouldn’t ruin the surprise.
If you are planning a proposal in Banff, Canmore or Lake Louise this winter, I would love to be the one to photograph it. We are, of course, available to photograph proposals year round too!! Proposal photography is also available for Edmonton & Calgary too! What better way to show off your new engagement with photos of it as it happened??
