Delta Kananaskis Elopement | Sarah & Chris | Canmore Mountain wedding

Delta Kananaskis Elopement | Canmore Mountain wedding

It’s just been a few weeks since I met up with Sarah & Chris for their Delta Kananaskis elopement. Their ceremony was at lookout #4 and the view was just spectacular. The wind was a little crazy that day so we went a little further down the hill to try to get a break from the wind. Sarah appeared and had the most fabulous veil for a windy it day, it just floated and flew around everywhere! The ceremony was short and sweet followed by a few photos with their son and a few friends before I whisked them away to Barrier Lake for our first round of photos. Sarah & Chris were up for climbing to get to the great spots and Sarah even jumped a small creek getting back from one of the locations! I was impressed! She managed to do that in a dress and heels and I had to tiptoe across a log… she put me to shame! After Barrier Lake, we went to Canoe Meadows to enjoy more rocks and gorgeous blue green water for their photos. We also got a bit of a wind break there too which was great until we wanted to do some flying veil shots! We had to work at it but we did manage to get a few flying veil photos before I returned them back to the Delta Kananaskis to enjoy the evening with their friends. Here are some of my favourite photos from Sarah & Chris’s Delta Kananaskis elopement!

Banff Photographer | Meagan & Michel | Tunnel Mountain wedding

Banff Photographer | Tunnel Mountain wedding

Just two weeks ago I was in Banff on a crazy windy day for Meagan & Michel’s Tunnel Mountain wedding with Danielle from Something New. If you’re looking for a wedding planner in Banff, Danielle is your girl! It was a kind of crazy day weatherwise… It was 10 degrees but it still snowed several times during the day and the wind was just unreal! Prior to the ceremony the arch and the chairs blew over, but luckily we figured out how to get the arch to stay up and not batter anyone during the ceremony. Whew! You kinda have to expect that when you are in the mountains… you never know what you’re going to get for weather! Following the ceremony, we did some photos at Tunnel Mountain Reservoir (where the ceremony was held) with their friends and family before wandering down Tunnel Mountain and finally ending up at Lake Minnewanka for a few last photos with the couple. I really enjoy photographing intimate weddings, especially in the mountains! The pace is way less hectic and it’s so much easier for the couple to enjoy the day. Afterwards, Meagan & Michel returned to Buffalo Mountain Lodge to celebrate the evening with their friends and family. Here’s some of my favourite photos from Meagan & Michel’s Tunnel Mountain wedding in Banff!

Emerald Lake Photographer | Emerald Lake Lodge wedding | Sofia & Mike

Emerald Lake Photographer | Emerald Lake Lodge wedding

If I had to choose only one place in the world that I could ever work, I think it would have to be the Emerald Lake area. Between Emerald Lake itself and the Natural Bridge, you really don’t need to go anywhere else! I really enjoy being an Emerald Lake photographer so I was super excited to head back for Sofia & Mike’s intimate destination wedding on the lookout. Although their wedding was in May, the lake was still frozen but we could see bits of that brilliant green peeking through the ice. The ceremony was short and sweet (only with a short delay to retrieve forgotten rings…  I won’t tell you who though) then we headed off for family photos and wedding party photos around Emerald Lake Lodge before hitting the road to the Natural Bridge. I love that Sofia & Mike were willing to climb and get dirty for amazing photos. At one point when we were on the lower river beneath the falls, I was balancing on a few inches of rock surrounded by water trying to get just the right angle. I love that my couples are willing to do whatever it takes for great photos and I’m willing to do it too! After the arrival of several tour buses we headed back to Emerald Lake Lodge for just a few more photos before sending them off to celebrate with family and friends. Here are some of my favourites from their Emerald Lake wedding!
