Canmore Engagement Photographer | Tina & Chris in Kananaskis Country
Earlier this summer I was in Canmore for Ashleigh & Brian’s wedding (hang tight, there will be a blog for them coming up soon) and had chatted with Tina & Chris about doing their engagement session in the mountains. At first we were thinking about Jasper, but plans changed and they were awesome to travel down to Canmore for the weekend so we could do their engagement photos there. While I was photographing fabulous Canmore wedding, they were tearing up the town quadding (and Tina tore herself up a bit too… we think she may have had a broken toe in these photos and she was still ok climbing around all over the place for me to get the angles I wanted). So that’s how I ended up being their Canmore Engagement Photographer. I just love the mountains, so any excuse I get to go there for photos, I’m on it!
We headed up the mountain toward Spray Lakes to get their session started on Goat Pond. It was a windy, rainy and semi-uncooperative day to start but they toughed it out! You really can’t beat the scenery in Kananaskis Country! After battling the wind, we headed down the mountain a bit and tucked into a little creek bed off the side of the road where we reacted a scene from Dirty Dancing… haha. The rain picked up there and to avoid a chance meeting with bears (it is Bear Country, ya know), we stopped at Whitman’s Pond where we climbed a little bit of rock to make it look like they were on top of the world. We lucked out here with some sunshine, but had crazy wind and Tina had a few “Marilyn” moments in her dress 😉 We finished off the session down the mountain in a lovely field and it really couldn’t have been more perfect. Tina & Chris are a pretty fantastic couple to spend an afternoon with. I’m really looking forward to all the fun we’ll have on their wedding day in Edmonton in October! Here are few of my favourite photos from their Canmore engagement session this summer!
