Canmore Engagement Portraits | Rocky Mountain Photography
I try to get to the Canmore/Banff area pretty often and when I’m in town, I like to get to take photos as much as possible. So when I was there for a wedding in Lake Louise, I had Lisa & Nathan meet me in Canmore for their engagement session (they live in Calgary and will be getting married in Calgary next spring). I could take photos in Canmore everyday and wouldn’t get bored… it’s an absolutely remarkable location! I first met with Lisa & Nathan at Quarry Lake and they followed me up the mountain to Spray Lakes to start their Canmore engagement portraits. The drive up is a little sketchy but totally worth it. Spray Lakes were near-deserted (perfect!) when we start photos there. We were battling pretty bright sun in the beginning trying to capture the view before things started to cloud over. The wind, of course, decided to pick up and wreak some havoc so we wandered a little further along into the fields. I love the look of tall grass with a mountain backdrop. We got caught in quite the downpour and headed off to our cars to dry off and then made a stop at Whitman’s Pond for another round of photos. Interestingly enough, it was dry and sunny there, not even 10 minutes away. That’s what you get in the mountains though! Super unpredictable. These are some of my favourite moments from Lisa & Nathan’s Canmore engagement Portraits! There’s quite a few silly ones mixed in since that really shows how playful Lisa & Nathan are together!
