This shoot is from last year and I’m just getting around to blogging it now… oops! This whole concept was lovingly crafted by myself and my good friend Susan at Picture That Photography. We loved the idea of shooting in an apple Orchard wedding, so we found a great location North of Edmonton in late harvest season. You can’t see it, but there’s were tons of little black sheep running around the orchard too. So cute! One of them tried to run off with the goodies on the sweet table. We had a pretty late start in the day so by the time we were set up we didn’t have a lot of sunlight left so we shot the reception into the night, just like a regular wedding! The Apples & Cinnamon concept looks beautiful and it’s just perfect for a fall wedding with rich reds and browns. I had an idea to make cinnamon roses for the bouquet and we took that further into the boutonnière and into the table settings too. It also smelled great too! Akiko Floral made a beautiful bouquet with apples, cinnamon and red beauty roses. We had lots of help from Kristina at Special Event Rentals for the decor and Jenn from Miss Vautour Make-up Artisty did a great job with our models hair and make-up. All of the yummy baked goods were bought from a grocery store bakery and helped add a little bit of a rustic feel to this glamorous apple orchard wedding. It’s fun to take an idea and complete design a concept for a wedding around it to give brides and grooms inspiration. I only get to do this a few times a year, but I love doing these shoots!
