Edmonton Portrait Photography | Stormy Skies & Lightning
It was a beautiful sunny day back i August when I packed up my car and headed to the West end to meet Kassandra & Craig for their engagement session. As I was driving the skies got darker the further West I went and I was a bit worried we were going to be rained out for their photos, but it seemed to hold off while we got photos in the wildflowers and tall grass. The skies continued to darken and we thought we’d try our luck with one more spot to see if we could find a patch of canola. We pulled up to the field, a little disappointed that we missed the end of the canola and decided to try a few photos as the skies grew darker. We saw lightning in the distance and thought we’d try to get a photo with it in the background. We were in that field for about 5 minutes and decided to call it quits before it got too dangerous. It turns out we had amazing timing as we managed to catch a photo with the lightning striking right behind them in the distance in a way that made it look like the lightning was hitting their umbrella! Crazy! Now I wonder what we are going to see in their wedding photos in Nordegg… stay tuned! 😉
