This conceptual wedding shoot is kinda dark. It’s inspired by the Hunger Games and has a weird Capitol twist on what a wedding would be like in a post-apocalyptic wedding world. It’s really fun to do these collaborative shoots with other wedding vendors just to see what you can come up with. The particular shoot was put together by myself and my friend Susan at Picture That Photography. Jordan and the team from Atmosphere Productions Inc. executed the design and we had awesome florals from faBLOOMosity and a gorgeous cake by Cake Couture. We headed out to Slave Lake on a cold October day to find a spot that looked like it had seen better days and the remnants of the huge forest fires filled that bill. We wanted to make something beautiful out of something so tragic and I think it worked out! The theme started out loosely based on the Hunger Games with our representation of Katniss, Peeta and Gale and then it just took a weird twist… exactly what you’d think would happen in District 12 with a little Capitol influence!
