Jasper Lake Elopement | Mountain wedding
I’ve known Krystal and Mike for quite some time now, in fact, the first time I met Mike was when they were modelling for a styled wedding shoot that took place in Jasper Lake so it just made sense for them to have a Jasper Lake elopement! Elopements are tricky things. Sometimes the plan starts out for just the two of you to run away together and get married, but then the plan slips and you find yourself having a few guests to witness your wedding like Krystal & Mike did. We met up earlier in the day for portraits before their ceremony as it was set for later in the evening (hello pretty light and skies for an evening ceremony in the summer!). We stayed further out of town for locations, there are so many amazing spots on the drive out to Hinton! Once we wrapped portraits, we headed to the sand dunes for the ceremony on the edge of Jasper Lake. The cool thing about eloping is you don’t have to adhere to normal times for things, so having a near sunset ceremony was really cool! It was the fastest ceremony I’ve ever photographed… 9 minutes! Kinda crazy! We were joined by some family and Krystal & Mike’s son for the ceremony and a fun sparkler exit on the beach. In the distant the thunder was booming and the clouds were looking threatening, but we only got sprinkled on a little! We wrapped the portraits with some photos of Krystal & Mike in Jasper Lake, like we had years ago for that awesome styled shoot. Here’s some of my favourite photos of Krystal & Mike’s Jasper Lake elopement!
Sometimes the places I make you go for great photos get a little messy 😉
