Lake Louise Portrait Photography | Moraine Lake
At 4:30 am I found myself on the road from Calgary (after having photographed a wedding the day before) to Lake Louise for a sunrise couples session with A&B (keeping their names anonymous here!). I’ve been to Lake Louise many times but I’d never had the chance to photograph anyone at Moraine Lake until that day. It was a chilly 2 degrees as we hiked up the rock pile (silly me had forgotten about the temperature difference and was, perhaps, totally not appropriately dressed to be hiking around the mountains in the chilly morning air… oops!) and took in the beautiful sunrise over the mountain surrounding us. Moraine Lake is just spectacular. The water at Lake Louise is beautiful, but it seems that Moraine Lake has it even better and bluer. The backdrop truly was breathtaking. After hiking around the area, we headed back down by the lake for more photos and a quick outfit change. We ended up near a bunch of brightly colored canoes to finish up our portrait session. I thought Lake Louise was a busy spot, but it seems that Moraine Lake is even busier with hikers and tourists. I was happy we had such a early start so we could have the spot, relatively to ourselves since it totally filled up as we were leaving. I love that A&B booked themselves a portrait session while they were on vacation in Lake Louise, these photos are the perfect souvenir to remember their trip to the mountains! ‘Til we meet again…!
We were up in the clouds! So cool!
Look at that spectacular view of Moraine Lake!
I loved the bright colours of the canoes!
