Rainy Edmonton Wedding Photography
2014 has been the year of rain for Edmonton Weddings. It has been rainier on Saturdays than any other year that I can remember. So we started out the day with sunshine for Amanda & Blair’s wedding when we met the at the Delta South for getting ready. Their ceremony and reception were at the beautiful Top of the Inn and after the ceremony we hit the road to Northlands to get Blair photos with the Wayne Gretzky statue. Then the rain started. So we wandered over to my studio to do some indoor photos with the newlyweds and their wedding party. Finally it looked like the weather was going to cooperate, so we hit the road to Whitemud Park and crossed our fingers that we were done with the rain. Whitemud Park is such a pretty place for photos, it’s probably my favourite spot in all of Edmonton and I love the photos we took there that day. Our luck with the rain, however, ran out towards the end of our photo session. We decided to place with the umbrellas and then the skies opened up and just drowned us! Amanda took it pretty well being in her dress with buckets of rain falling. Amanda & Blair were so easygoing, such a pleasure to photograph! I happen to love rainy wedding photos though, so I didn’t mind getting drenched too much. 😉 Here’s one of my favourite photos of them from their wedding day in Edmonton this past summer!
